Howdy. I'm Steve Rielley. Or Steven if you prefer (sigh, Cyndy started calling me Steven, and now her entire family calls me that). Definitely not Stephen or Stevie, which might get you wiffled batted if used. Some terms that might describe me are: Software Engineer, cook, juggler, bibliophile and a generally nice guy (or so I have been told). I currently live in Bellingham, WA where I work for Attachmate as a staff software engineer with the R&D group. In the past I have worked in Chicago, New York and Seattle for a variety of different companies. What are those companies you ask? Why Datacron, Prodigy Interactive Personal Service, Image Business Systems, Wall Data, and Unitype Inc. But now I'm back to Bellingham. I have two adorable, if frustrating, cats named Castor and Pollux. A friend's cat had an unexpected litter so I took two of the three kittens. I love the wee little tykes, but they definitely have uhm, personality.
Hmmm, good question. I think it comes down to the fact that I really wanted to have email@example.com. LOL, yep that is about it. But, if you are a Rielley and you want an email alias, drop me a line and we'll see what we can do. Oh, besides that I do have some programming projects I want to try (and we'll see if my ISP and web host will actually let me do them), but that is further down the road. Also my friend Sandy needed a place to put his pages without them pesky ad banners.
Hosting pages for my family and friends, a Rielley genealogy page, an archive of the humor_drop and anything else I might want to write.
Sandy is a good friend of mine for going on ten years now. He started off as an intern for me at Prodigy and we stayed good friends since then. LOL, also he is the guy who introduced me to Cynthia, my girlfriend (if she is going to be calling me Steven...).
Originally, it was going to be a weekly email posting by me to talk about what I have been doing, things of the week and a big brick of humor. I think I'm now averaging one drop every three months rather than weekly. I guess it is something I need to work on.
Lately I have been going to the Bon-Vivant Cooking School. If you are in Seattle, check it out the class schedule, it is a lot of fun. What do I cook? Chinese, French, Tex-Mex (Texas Chili in particular), breads and chocolates.
My stats? I guess we can go with the usual WEB PAGE INFO sheet.
